Job Title: Radiation Therapist Job Specialty: Radiation Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, typically 8-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week, with the possibility to work up to 40 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Must be a graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy school Certifications: - American Heart Association BLS - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Must-Have: - Knowledge of electronic health record operating systems Job Description: - Administer radiation therapy to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist - Ensure all documents required for treatment are completed - Perform simulations and simulation radiography (e.g., CT, MRI, and PET) to localize treatment area, confirming treatment plan with the Radiation Oncologist - Educate patients regarding procedures on the first day of treatment - Observe all safety regulations concerning ionizing radiation for both self and patients, reporting any incidences outside of normal operating parameters to the Medical Physicist - Attend weekly chart rounds and monthly department meetings - Maintain a safe and clean environment within the work setting - Perform other duties as assigned - Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times - Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality - Perform essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment - Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized - Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines - Work varied shifts as scheduled and/or needed Additional Information: Candidates must reside more than 90 miles from the facility to be considered for assignment. The facility reserves the right to cancel three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances. Holiday coverage is required.
